Mobile Fashion App Strut Is Like Tinder For Discovering And Sharing New Outfits | TechCrunch

Strut is centered around the idea of helping users discover new apparel via mobile that they might want to buy. It does this by presenting them with 50 new pieces of clothing each morning, with a Tinder-like mechanism for swiping left on items they dont like and swiping right on those they do. It uses machine learning to refine the items it presents to users and improves its targeting over time. The idea is that Strut will get (visit site) to know their tastes better and provide clothing options more to their liking the longer that they use the app. If Strut were just about helping users to find new clothes, the app wouldnt be that interesting. What makes it fun is the ability to create outfits around those finds and sharing them with others as part of some collaborative social fashion mashup. In addition to swiping right or left, users can also swipe up.

TAPS Fashion and Full Frames Model Showcase | Jackson Free Press | Jackson, MS

View photo Shoppers walk past a Truworths shop with Sale advertisements on its windows at the Sandton shopping mall JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South African clothing retailer Truworths International Ltd issued a trading update on Thursday showing slowing sales growth, sending its shares down more than 8 percent in early trade. Truworths, which also named the head of French retailer Kiabi as its new chief executive, said sales increased 4.7 percent to 3.7 billion rand ($332.2 million) in the 18 weeks ended Nov. 2, well below the 7 percent growth rate achieved in the same period last year. Once among the must-haves in fund managers’ portfolios thanks to credit-fuelled spending in recent years, South African retailers have been among the worst-performing stocks over the past 12 months as credit providers pull back due to rising defaults. There are concerns spending could be further affected in the run-up to the vital Christmas holidays, with analysts seeing rising interest rates. The ratio of household debt to disposable income is already at around 75 percent. Truworths sells about three quarters of its products via its own-store credit cards.
